You can even use numbers in your comments and Solver will ignore them. Soulver also converts *2 into x 2.īut later you’ll look at that line and wonder, “Why did I write x 2?” Soulver allows comments, so you simply use two forward slashes and write whatever you want. Instead of going in and editing numbers in a tiny cell, just write * 2 at the end of the line and you’ll see a new total in the right column of $18.36. That is a technically correct description of the app but it sure doesn’t capture the beauty and uniqueness of the app. The tag line for Soulver is that it’s a smart notepad with a built-in calculator. The app is called Soulver from soulver.app. Once in a blue moon, you find an app that has a completely new approach and a unique interface that is delightful. It seems that in a few minutes you can figure them out because they all work pretty much the same. – Save your calculations into documents, and sync with iCloud between your Mac, iPhone & iPad.I’m starting to feel like applications for the Mac never surprise me anymore. – All standard math and programming functions, also available on specially designed keyboards. – Custom variables across all your documents, and a special keyboard for quick access to them. – Supports over 150 currencies (including Bitcoin), and has a specially designed currency keyboard for quick conversions. – Easy percentage calculations using natural phrases like "15% off $350”, or "$250 + 12% tax", or "40 as a % of 390". These are live references, like in a spreadsheet. – Reference previous answers by tapping on them. – Spread your calculations over multiple lines, and edit mistakes if you make them. WHY SOULVER IS BETTER THAN A TRADITIONAL CALCULATOR:
Use Soulver for quick calculations, number problems involving variables, unit conversions, and for thinking through problems that involve math. It lets you use words alongside numbers, so that they make sense and do calculations over multiple lines. It has a new kind of interface that is far more useful than a traditional calculator. Soulver is a beautiful notepad calculator app that you will love.
